The last time I had a font manager loaded on the Mac was when Bohemian Coding was making Fontcase. Sadly, Bohemian Coding decided to stop development on Fontcase and moved on to Sketch. I have been using Apple's Font Book to manage my fonts. It does the job, but Fontcase was better.
These are the problems with Font Book:
- Slow.
- Fonts have to be installed in the Users Font folder.
- No integration with online services like Google Fonts or Adobe Typekit.
- No auto-activation in apps like Photoshop or Sketch.
- Designed for novice users.
If you want to go beyond the basic skills of Font Book, you need to look at RightFont.
RightFont Library
RightFont is a lightweight and fast font manager for the Mac. It is feature rich and efficient at handling large collections of fonts.
